Customer Reviews
Average Customer Rating:

A great finale, essential reading if you're a fan of the series.
I recently finished reading breaking dawn and as my review states, in my opinion this is a great ending to the series, I loved every minute of it, even though I couldn't resist reading spoilers online that gave away major plot points of the story before I'd finished Eclipse.
I probably would have enjoyed the book a bit more if I hadn't read those spoilers but it was thuroughly enjoying to read exactly how everything played out with all of the details and amazing pictures meyer has painted here.

Having read all of the main books of the Twilight Saga (the only one I haven't read is the Bree Tanner story) I truly don't understand why so many people hate the series as much as they do, I am a 26 year old straight man, I do have a fairly broad range of interests when it comes to my entertainment needs, but I rarely read many novels, I still absolutely love this entire series, I don't fit the assumed target audience, but still I find all of the books utterly amazing and I think Breaking Dawn is my favorite of all of the books, particularly the last book of Breaking Dawn.
I can not wait for this masterpiece to be released as a film, even though I imagine the same will happen to it as has happened to the other books in the series, things will IMO undoubtedly feel rushed, but to see how the movie's producers translate the last of the series into a film will I imagine be awesome, even if it's only a fraction as great as this amazing book.
Seriously you have to read it if you like the other books.

Disappointing
After watching Twilight on DVD, I was hooked. I read the first three books in a week and enjoyed all of them. Am half way through Breaking Dawn and am soooo disappointed - she's ruined the whole saga!! I'm all for happy endings and everything neatly tied up but the characters in this book bear no resemblance to themselves. Wish I'd made up my own ending!

Disappointing
You will probably buy this book. You will probably read this book. Of course, you have read the other three, you need to read the ultimate book to satisfy your need for more. However, prepare yourself for a totally anticlimax.

briliant!
I spoiled the surprise by looking on net to find out about breaking dawn, so had vague idea what was going to happen, but the book had me riveted to see what happened to Bella, and wasn't disappointed! Got a bit tedious toward the end, but an excellent read! Looking forward to seeing what they do with this as a film!

Overall a good read, a few things I would change!
Overall I really liked this book, Having come to the whole Twilight saga late, I am now officially obsessed with all that is Twilight lol. Read all the books in succession so couldn't wait to get to BD.
As many people have said, it is in 3 parts/books, part one from Bella's pov, part two Jacob and then back to Bella.

Book one - I really enjoyed this, It did kind of jump straight into the wedding part really quickly, hopefully when the film comes out they will make a bit more of the before part of the wedding. Love the honeymoon scenes, biting the pillows was hilarious and I so hope the writers keep this infamous line in the movie. Once I got to the climax of this book (bella finding out she is pregnant) couldn't wait to get to the next page, so I was quite dissapointed to turn over and go straight to Book two from Jacob's POV.

Book two - This didn't really work for me, I felt like there was a big chunk missing, we went straight from Bella & Edward getting ready to leave the Island onto a week later when Jacob discovers they are home, goes to see them and Bella is already hugely pregnant, I just feel like we missed out. I would have liked to see Bella arriving home seeing the Cullens reaction, the scene between Rosalie and Edward when he finds out that Bella called her for help...
I actually think this book would have made more sense being from Edward's point of view. The conclusion of this part of the book of course being the whole imprinting thing, I'm kind of on the fence with this still, I can see why SM felt the need to put this in as otherwise Jacob's character is pretty much surplus to requirements...

Book Three - Back to Bella and a quick recap of the birth from her pov, her transformation to vampire I found a little confusing (maybe thats just me!) and had to re-read this section a few times. A lot of people have said she has it all too easy, no mad urges to kill anyone as we have been told constantly about the newborns and how hard it is etc etc, this actually doesn't bother me though, I actually liked the whole transformation scenes.
The final 'battle' scene played out well, I thought that this book did tie up a few loose ends i.e explaining why Edwards has never been able to read Bella's thoughts. The whole Bella getting the fake passports was a waste of pages I thought and did make.

My main critisisms would be SM's description of Resnesmee...the ringlets, the weird talking, the full set of teeth.....this really made me cringe, I know this is fantasy but there is fantasy then there is just plain ridiculous! I started to think 'Little house on the prairie' meets 'Children of the corn'!! I so hope they dont go down this road with the movie as it will just be a big joke!
Also, I would have liked to see Edward more involved as a father, there are hardly any scenes with him and Resnesmee, we all know he is affectionate, caring etc so I wanted to see the whole father daughter bond, it seemed to focus more on Jacob! She (SM) has actually made me go off Jacob somewhat in this book, whenever there was a scene with Bella, Edward and the baby i actually found myself wishing Jacob would go away and let them be a family!
Other than that a good read, looking forward to reading all the books over again as I seemed to fly through them!
